Santee residents should prepare for wet and windy weather over the next few days as a series of storm systems moves across San Diego County.
According to the National Weather Service San Diego office, inland areas including Santee can expect 1.5 to 2 inches of rainfall through Tuesday. Coastal areas will see slightly less rain (1 to 1.5 inches), while mountain and foothill areas could receive 2 to 4 inches.
Wind advisories are in effect for most of San Diego County, with strong and gusty winds expected throughout the storm period. The high desert will see around 0.5 to 1 inch of rain, while lower desert areas will receive less than a quarter inch.
Mountain areas will also see significant snowfall, with Winter Storm Warnings issued from 10 a.m. Monday through 9 a.m. Wednesday. Snow levels are expected to drop to around 5,500 feet, with 12 to 18 inches possible at higher elevations.
Residents should exercise caution while driving in wet conditions, clear storm drains near their properties, and secure outdoor items that could be blown around by strong winds. The storm systems are expected to bring multiple weather impacts through Tuesday before conditions begin to improve.
