Santee picked up 2.57 inches of rain over the past five days as three winter storm systems rolled through San Diego County in quick succession, according to data from the National Weather Service.
The rainfall totals, measured through 9:52 a.m. Friday, reflect one of the wettest stretches East County has seen this season. Nearby communities saw similar numbers — La Mesa recorded 2.57 inches, Flinn Springs 2.79 inches, and Alpine RAWS logged 3.78 inches.
The mountains took the heaviest hit. Lake Cuyamaca led all San Diego County stations with 7.53 inches, followed by Pine Hills RAWS at 6.11 inches and Julian at 5.96 inches. Palomar Mountain CRS recorded 6.12 inches. Even the desert communities to the east received measurable rainfall, with San Felipe picking up 1.77 inches and Borrego Springs 0.52 inches.
In the coastal areas, Kearny Mesa led with 2.49 inches, followed by Miramar at 2.28 inches. San Diego International Airport recorded 1.57 inches across the five-day period.
The storms have eased heading into the weekend, with forecasters at the National Weather Service expecting drier and warmer conditions to settle in through the weekend and into next week. After a soggy stretch, East County residents can expect a break before the next weather pattern develops.
