A new fine-dining steakhouse is planned for Santee this summer, giving East County diners a local option for a special-occasion meal without driving to the coast or downtown San Diego.

The Heritage Steakhouse is slated to debut in June at Lantern Crest Senior Living, according to Patch. The restaurant is being developed as a New York-style steakhouse focused on prime cuts, classic design and elevated service.

The restaurant will be located on the sixth floor of Lantern Crest’s newly completed Legacy Building. Patch reported that the dining room will include glass elevator access, speakeasy-inspired design details, leather banquettes, mahogany paneling, brass lighting and white-linen tables.

According to the source, the menu is expected to feature hand-cut USDA Prime, Certified Angus and Wagyu steaks aged at least 28 days, along with a bar program focused on cocktails, premium spirits and wines from regions including Napa Valley, Bordeaux, Mendoza and Valle de Guadalupe.

For Santee residents, the opening would add a higher-end dining destination inside the city limits and could draw visitors from across East County. Read the original report from Patch.
