Lantern Crest Senior Living in Santee plans to unveil a new pickleball court on April 29 and celebrate with a free community barbecue and games, according to Patch. The event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the barbecue set for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Patch reported that attendees will also be able to preview the community's new Legacy buildings, part of a 106-residence expansion now in pre-leasing. Founder Michael Grant said the new court is part of the property's effort to offer residents an active, social lifestyle.

Lantern Crest said the public is invited to attend the barbecue and games during the opening event. The senior living community is located at 300 Lantern Crest Way in Santee and lists amenities including pools, fitness centers, theaters, libraries, salons and dog parks.

The April 29 event adds a public gathering to the calendar at one of Santee's larger senior living campuses while also showcasing the community's latest expansion.
