The Jamul Casino Resort has been recognized with two top honors at the AAF Reno ADDY Awards for its short film, "Water Sweet – The Story of Jamul." The film earned a Gold ADDY and the Best of Show award in the Corporate Social Responsibility category.
The film, produced in partnership with advertising agency Hey Frank and production company Orangetree Productions, chronicles the history, culture, and perseverance of the Jamul Indian Village of California. Its title is derived from the Kumeyaay word for Jamul, which translates to "water sweet."
"Our tribe's story deserves to be told with honesty and care," said Erica Pinto, chairwoman of the Jamul Indian Village Tribe. "We’re proud that ‘Water Sweet’ accomplished that." The film was created to coincide with the 2025 opening of the Jamul Casino Resort hotel, a major expansion for the tribe.
As a Gold ADDY winner, the film will now advance to the national ADDY competition, which is among the most competitive in the advertising industry. The film can be viewed on YouTube.
