Westwind Brass is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a series of free outdoor concerts across San Diego County, including several East County stops, according to East County Magazine.

The season includes performances at Mission Trails Regional Park, Old Poway Park and Mt. Helix Park. The lineup starts July 4 with Finest City Brass at Mission Trails Regional Park, followed by a July 11 Westwind Brass Summer Family Concert at Old Poway Park.

Additional concerts are scheduled Aug. 22 at Old Poway Park and Mission Trails, Sept. 26 at Mission Trails, Oct. 17 at Mission Trails and Dec. 5 at Mission Trails. The final local show listed by East County Magazine is scheduled Dec. 5 at Christmas on Mt. Helix.

For Santee residents, the Mission Trails concerts are the closest option and give families a free summer outing within a short drive. Attendees should check the source schedule before going in case times or programs change.
