Sycuan Casino Resort is launching El Río, a new Latino poolside concert series at the Retreat Pool & Cabanas, according to East County Magazine.

The series begins Thursday, July 30, with La Sonora Santanera Tributo a Carlos Colorado y La Gran Sonora Dinamita. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the concert starts at 8 p.m., East County Magazine reported.

The Dehesa Road resort is moving the format outdoors after hosting indoor Latino concert nights. The poolside setup gives attendees access to the pool deck, including two pools, a lazy river, swim-up bar, hot tubs and cabanas available for reservation, according to the source report.

East County Magazine reported that the series will continue beyond July, with another concert scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 24, and future performers to be announced by Sycuan. Tickets start at $19 and are available online, through the Sycuan app or at the box office.

For Santee residents, Sycuan is one of the closer large entertainment venues in East County, making the series a nearby option for summer music without driving into downtown San Diego or coastal venues.
