A stolen vehicle pursuit that started in Santee ended in a crash outside an El Cajon hotel just after midnight Wednesday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies attempted to stop a stolen car in Santee when the driver fled, sparking a chase through East County. The pursuit concluded shortly after 1 a.m. when the vehicle crashed in front of the Hampton Inn on Magnolia Avenue in El Cajon.

The driver was transported to a hospital for treatment. No deputies were injured during the incident. The Sheriff's Office did not immediately release information on the driver's condition or identity.
