A Spring Valley man was arrested Tuesday after San Diego County sheriff's detectives served a search warrant at a home on Glen Canyon Circle and said they found multiple illegal firearms and gun parts inside. According to Patch, detectives recovered an un-serialized short-barreled rifle, extended magazines for rifles and handguns, ammunition and additional firearm components in various stages of manufacture.

The suspect, identified by authorities as 52-year-old Jason Jefferson, was taken into custody at the home without incident. Patch reported that sheriff's officials said Jefferson was legally prohibited from owning or possessing firearms and was booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of multiple firearm-related charges.

The investigation remains ongoing, according to the Sheriff's Office.
