Three men were arrested in Spring Valley after deputies conducted a felony probation compliance check at a home in the 3000 block of South Barcelona Avenue, according to East County Magazine.
The operation involved Crime Suppression Teams from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station and Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Substation. East County Magazine, citing Sgt. Timothy Clark, reported that deputies believed Mario Tapia, 60, and Erasmo Tapia, 49, were selling illegal street narcotics from the home.
According to the report, Mario Tapia was seen conducting an illegal drug transaction shortly before the compliance operation. Deputies detained him along with Erasmo Tapia and Levi Gagarin, 46.
During a search of the home, deputies reported finding about 28 grams of suspected methamphetamine, stolen driver’s licenses, personal identifying information, credit cards and ammunition. The three men were arrested on various felony violations and booked into San Diego Central Jail.
Spring Valley is outside Santee city limits, but the case is local for East County readers because it involved sheriff’s teams that patrol nearby unincorporated communities and the same public-safety corridor many Santee residents use daily. Read the original report from East County Magazine.
