By Santee Pulse Staff · Published March 6, 2026 · 3 min read

San Diego State University will celebrate its 54th annual Pow Wow on Saturday, April 11, beginning at 11 a.m. on the main SDSU campus at 5500 Campanile Drive, San Diego.

The event is free and open to the public. The SDSU Pow Wow is a cultural and social gathering held annually to bring together the Native American community at SDSU and the broader San Diego region. The university notes it hosts one of the longest-running university-organized pow wows in California.

The event is a partnership among the SDSU Native Resource Center, the American Indian Studies Department, the Native American Student Alliance, and the American Indian Alumni Chapter of SDSU.

For East County residents, the SDSU campus is approximately 20 miles west of Santee via State Route 52 — an easy day trip for families interested in experiencing Native American culture, dance, and community.
