Santee Plans Salute to Service Night With National Night Out

By Santee Pulse Staff · Published July 30, 2026 · 3 min read

Santee will bring public safety, military recognition and live music together Aug. 6 for a Salute to Service Night at Town Center Community Park East, according to East County Magazine and the City of Santee's event calendar.

The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with National Night Out, the annual campaign focused on police-community partnerships. Families can meet local law enforcement officers and public safety partners, see emergency vehicles and take part in safety demonstrations.

A Salute to Service ceremony presented by the Santee VFW is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. to honor active-duty military members, veterans, first responders and their families. The summer concert begins at 6:30 p.m., with The Sea Monks scheduled to perform rockabilly country music.

For Santee residents, the event is more than another Thursday concert. It puts several community groups in the same park on the same night, creating an easy way for families to meet the people behind local emergency response and neighborhood safety programs.

East County Magazine reported that attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring blankets or low-back chairs. Because construction on the Santee Community Center has limited nearby parking and closed the YMCA footbridge, residents are encouraged to carpool, bike or walk if possible.
