The Santee Sheriff’s Station will host a National Night Out event Thursday, Aug. 6, at Town Center Community Park East, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
The Santee event is scheduled for 5:30 to 8 p.m. at 550 Park Center Drive. It is part of the Sheriff’s Office’s countywide National Night Out schedule, which includes events in several communities on different dates around Aug. 4.
Sheriff’s officials describe National Night Out as an annual community-building campaign focused on strengthening partnerships between law enforcement, community organizations and neighborhoods. The countywide events are expected to include family activities, giveaways, community resources and opportunities to meet deputies.
The Sheriff’s Office said some events will also feature specialized units, including K-9 teams, the Bomb/Arson Unit and Search and Rescue. For Santee residents, the local stop offers a chance to ask questions, meet the deputies who serve the city and learn about public safety resources close to home.
The Sheriff’s Office posted the full countywide event list on its calendar and said it looks forward to seeing residents at National Night Out.
