The San Diego County Sheriff's Homicide Unit is investigating a death following a medical-aid call in Santee, according to an agency release posted Nov. 1.

Deputies and Santee firefighters responded Oct. 30 to the 8500 block of Graves Avenue. The person was taken to a hospital and later died from injuries the Sheriff's Office described as suspicious.

The release did not identify the person or establish the cause and manner of death, which the Medical Examiner's Office will determine. Investigators said the incident appeared isolated and that there was no known threat to the community, based on information available at the time of the release.
