Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead Wednesday afternoon near a park bench in Santee, according to Patch and the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday to the 9100 block of Carlton Hills Boulevard after a report of a death, Patch reported. Deputies found the man dead next to a park bench.

Detectives with the Sheriff's Homicide Unit took over the investigation. The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the man's identity and the cause and manner of death.

Authorities said there is no known threat to the community, and no other details about the circumstances had been released as of Patch's report.
