San Diego County Sheriff's officials say detectives and Lemon Grove deputies seized drugs and a handgun during a search at a business on Lemon Grove Avenue last week.
The warrant was served at about 11:20 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the 2700 block of Lemon Grove Avenue, according to the Sheriff's Office. Investigators said the case began with information that a convicted felon may have access to firearms. That person was detained and released after deputies did not find a firearm connected to him.
During the search, detectives reported finding 2.12 pounds of marijuana, 1.34 pounds of cocaine, 93.4 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and 620 amphetamine pills. Deputies also found a 9mm handgun inside the business, which officials described as a barber shop and recording studio.
The business owner, Roy Kirkpatrick, was arrested without incident and booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspected Health and Safety Code violations, including possession of a controlled substance while armed and possession of a controlled substance for sale, according to the Sheriff's Office.
