Sheriff's traffic investigators are asking for the public's help after a fatal hit-and-run collision early Sunday in Lemon Grove, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies from the Lemon Grove Sheriff's Substation responded just before 1:30 a.m. Sept. 13 to the intersection of Viewcrest Drive and Imperial Avenue after a report of a hit-and-run. When they arrived, deputies found a man lying in the roadway, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office said the victim's identity was being withheld pending notification of his family. As of Monday afternoon, officials said there was no suspect or suspect vehicle description.

Investigators asked anyone with information or surveillance video from the area to call the Sheriff's Office at 858-868-3200. Anonymous tips can be submitted to San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
