Several Lemon Grove civic groups have launched an annual back-to-school supply drive to help local students start the school year with basic classroom materials, according to East County Magazine.
The Lemon Grove Improvement Council is partnering with the Lemon Grove Forward Club and the Lemon Grove Lions Club on the drive. Organizers are asking residents, businesses and community groups to donate new school essentials, including backpacks, notebooks, lined paper, pencils, markers and glue.
The drive runs through 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2. East County Magazine reported that residents and business owners interested in participating can contact Teresa Rosiak, president of the Lemon Grove Forward Club, by phone or email through the source article.
For Santee and East County families, the supply drive is one of several late-summer reminders that the school year is approaching, and that local civic groups are already preparing support for students before classes resume.
