San Diego soccer fans, mark your calendars: Snapdragon Stadium will be one of the busiest venues in the entire LA28 Olympic soccer tournament.
The LA28 Organizing Committee released the complete men's and women's soccer schedule Monday morning, revealing that the Mission Valley stadium — home of San Diego State football, San Diego FC, and San Diego Wave FC — will host 11 matches across the tournament.
The schedule puts East County San Diegans close to the Olympic action. Women's group stage games run July 11–17, followed by a women's quarterfinal on July 21. The semifinals — men's on July 24 and women's on July 25 — are followed by the two bronze medal matches: men's on July 27 and women's on July 28.
Snapdragon Stadium is San Diego County's only Olympic venue for LA28. Surfing will be held separately at Lower Trestles Beach near Camp Pendleton, and the final matches are planned for the Rose Bowl Stadium. Preliminary and knockout stages will take place at stadiums across six cities, including San Diego and San Jose.
For East County residents, Snapdragon Stadium is roughly 20 minutes from Santee — making this one of the most accessible Olympic experiences the region has ever had.
