A violent two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Jamacha Road and Gustavo Street in El Cajon left three people hospitalized Sunday evening, March 8. The crash was severe enough to sever one of the vehicles in half, scattering debris across the roadway.
According to investigators, a car was traveling northbound on Jamacha Road when it veered into southbound lanes and struck an oncoming vehicle. The force of the impact split one car apart. Emergency responders transported two teenagers and one adult to local hospitals. Authorities stated that none of the injuries were deemed life-threatening.
The El Cajon Police Department's Traffic Division is investigating the crash. No additional information on the cause of the collision or whether charges are pending has been released. Jamacha Road is a major north-south arterial that runs through residential and commercial areas of El Cajon and extends south toward Jamul.
