East County’s mid-May to mid-June calendar is filling up with car shows, farm tours, Mother’s Day teas, concerts and community gatherings, according to East County Magazine’s latest Destination East County roundup.
The most local item for Santee readers is the return of the Santee Summer Concert Series, which begins June 11 and continues Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m. through Aug. 13, except July 2. The concerts are held at Town Center Community Park East, 550 Park Center Drive.
The city’s concert lineup starts with The Pistol Blonde on June 11 and includes tribute bands, classic rock, 80s music, funk and Santee’s Salute to Service with National Night Out on Aug. 6. The city says this year’s concerts will also include patriotic activities tied to America’s 250th anniversary.
The broader East County roundup also highlights Cajon Cruise in El Cajon, Mother’s Day teas in Julian, open farm tours at Oasis Camel Dairy in Ramona, The Dance in Julian, La Mesa Classic Car Shows, the Julian Town Square Music Festival and Three Dog Night at The Magnolia in El Cajon.
