Spring has officially arrived, and East County has a packed calendar of Easter egg hunts, community celebrations, and April events for all ages. Here is your guide to the best of what is coming up.

Santee Bunny Trail โ€” March 28

The City of Santee hosts its annual Bunny Trail from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at Town Center Community Park East. Children hop at their own pace through vendor and business booths collecting eggs, then exchange their haul at the city egg redemption booth for a festive goodie bag. The event also features a live DJ, crafts, face painting, carnival rides, dragon dancers, and professional photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny.

Parkway Plaza Bunny Bash โ€” March 21 through April 4

Parkway Plaza kicks off its Bunny Bash with a special event noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, featuring crafts, prize giveaways, and character appearances. Professional Easter Bunny photos will continue daily in the mall's spring court through Saturday, April 4.

Santee Lakes Egg-stravaganza โ€” April 4

One of East County's largest spring festivals returns to Santee Lakes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 4. The event features more than 10,000 hidden eggs divided into age-specific scrambles so every child gets a fair share. Beyond the hunt, enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, inflatables, and local food trucks. Admission is free; nominal fees apply for parking and some individual activities.

Bunny Train in Campo โ€” March 28-29 and April 4-5

The Pacific Southwest Railway Museum in Campo offers Bunny Train rides March 28-29 and April 4-5. After riding through scenic vistas, children can hunt for eggs in the exhibit hall and trade them in for prizes, plus meet the Easter Bunny in his garden. Multiple time slots available each day.
