Julian Mountain Brewfest will return Aug. 22 with local beer, wine, cider and mead tastings at Nickel Beer Company, according to East County Magazine.

The event is scheduled for noon to 4 p.m. at 1485 Hollow Glen Road in Julian. East County Magazine reported that the $25 ticket includes eight alcoholic beverage tastings, one nonalcoholic drink, a commemorative cup and musical entertainment.

The festival gives East County residents another late-summer option before school-year routines fully settle in. For Santee families and residents willing to make the drive into the mountains, Julian also offers a cooler day-trip setting than the lower inland valleys in August.
