Patch's latest Santee-area crime and public-safety roundup highlights several incidents across East County and San Diego County, including an arson arrest in Spring Valley, a Spring Valley crime suppression operation and a Lakeside carjacking arrest.
According to Patch, a drone helped deputies catch an arson suspect in Spring Valley after a fire threatened homes and prompted evacuations. Patch also reported that three people were arrested during a Spring Valley crime suppression operation and booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of various felony violations.
The roundup also includes a Lakeside carjacking case in which a suspect was arrested with help from a license plate reader. Patch reported that the suspect demanded a sport utility vehicle and items from victims' pockets, citing Sgt. Colin Snodgrass.
Other countywide items in the roundup include border drug seizures, additional fire updates and criminal cases outside East County. For Santee readers, the East County items are the ones to watch most closely because they involve nearby Spring Valley and Lakeside neighborhoods that share roads, sheriff coverage and daily traffic patterns with Santee.
