The San Diego Regional East County Chamber of Commerce marks more than a century of advocacy Saturday evening with its 114th annual East County Honors Awards gala at Sycuan Casino Resort in El Cajon, drawing an expected crowd of more than 400 attendees from across San Diego County.

The event โ€” a tradition held continuously since 1912 โ€” features the swearing-in of the incoming Chamber Board of Directors, followed by recognition of outstanding businesses, organizations, and community leaders throughout East County. Attendees can expect an evening that includes dinner, networking, silent and live auctions, dancing, and the awards program.

Chamber officials said this year's gala is on pace to be a record-breaking fundraiser. The event is open to the public; sponsorships and tickets are available at eastcountychamber.org.

For Santee and East County residents, the Chamber serves as one of the region's most active advocates on business, education, and public policy issues. With more than a century of history behind it, the organization counts businesses from Santee, El Cajon, La Mesa, and surrounding communities among its membership.

The gala begins at 5 p.m. at Sycuan Casino Resort, located at 5485 Casino Way, El Cajon.
