An unidentified man has died from injuries he suffered in a head-on collision on State Route 94 near Dulzura, the California Highway Patrol reported Feb. 25.
The crash occurred Feb. 23 at approximately 2:55 p.m. on SR-94 west of Little Tecate Road in Dulzura. According to the CHP, the man โ driving a 2009 Nissan Cube โ was traveling eastbound when he veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a 2003 Dodge Ram. The driver of the Dodge Ram, a 57-year-old man from Tecate, Mexico, sustained minor injuries.
Both drivers were transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital. The Nissan driver was admitted with major injuries and later succumbed to those injuries, according to East County Magazine. He had not been identified as of the report.
CHP investigators said the crash remains under investigation. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor for the Dodge Ram driver, investigators said.
CHP Captain Monteagudo issued a reminder to drivers following the collision. "Maintaining your lane is not just about following the rules; it is about safe driving," the captain said.
