Cuyamaca College will host the Spring Garden and Butterfly Festival and the Coyote Music Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2, according to East County Magazine. Both events are free to the public.

The Rancho San Diego event brings together The Water Conservation Garden, Cuyamaca College and the Heritage of the Americas Museum for a day focused on nature, music, learning and family activities. Festival highlights include butterfly releases, milkweed sales, nonprofit partners, a pollinator zone and the Ornamental Horticulture Department’s largest plant sale of the year at Building M.

The Coyote Music Festival, presented by the Cuyamaca Performing Arts Department, will feature local bands performing original music. The day also includes a Cuyamaca College open house, Dino Land, alpacas, a Cartoon Cool Zone, food trucks and sweet treat trucks.

For Santee families, the event offers a nearby free Saturday option with several kid-friendly draws in one place, from butterflies and plants to live music and museum activities. Cuyamaca College is at 900 Rancho San Diego Parkway in El Cajon.
