A 37-year-old North Park man was arrested after sheriff's officials said a threat was mailed to Valhalla High School in unincorporated El Cajon, according to City News Service reporting published by ABC 10News.

Detectives and school resource officers from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office's Rancho San Diego station arrested Ray Talia on Thursday after investigating the school threat, which authorities said had been mailed the previous day. Investigators said they also linked Talia to additional threats mailed to a Chase Bank in San Diego and to a private residence in El Cajon.

Sheriff's detectives and deputies from the Bomb/Arson Unit served a search warrant Thursday evening in the 3100 block of Landis Street in North Park. During that search, detectives arrested Talia on suspicion of making criminal threats.

SDSO Sgt. Matthew Mosler told City News Service that detectives obtained a gun violence restraining order prohibiting Talia from possessing firearms. Authorities said there is no current threat to Valhalla High School or the community at large.

Talia was booked into San Diego Central Jail and was being held without bail on suspicion of six felony charges, including five counts of making a terrorist threat and one count of threatening death or great bodily injury at a school. He was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in El Cajon Superior Court.
