San Diego County is reminding residents 62 and older that they can get a free day-use parking pass for county parks, according to East County Magazine, which cited a recent social media reminder from County Supervisor Joel Anderson.
The county says seniors can receive free day-use parking with proof of San Diego County residency. For anyone under 62, a standard All Parks Annual Parking Pass currently costs $50, while daily parking at most fee-charging county facilities is $5.
County officials say the senior pass is not digital and must be picked up in person with a government-issued photo ID showing both age and county residency. For Santee-area residents, nearby pickup locations include El Monte County Park in Lakeside, Flinn Springs County Park in El Cajon and Louis A. Stelzer County Park on Wildcat Canyon Road, along with other county park sites across the region and the Parks and Recreation headquarters in Kearny Mesa.
The county says more information is available at sdparks.org/Parking or by calling (877) 565-3600.
