The Heritage Steakhouse has named Meredith Manée as executive chef as the new Santee restaurant moves toward an expected August opening, according to Patch.

Manée brings more than 25 years of culinary experience to the role. Patch reported that she most recently served as executive chef at The Bridges at Rancho Santa Fe and previously held positions with Four Seasons properties, the Hotel del Coronado and The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua.

The restaurant is planned for the sixth floor of the Legacy Building at Lantern Crest Senior Living. According to Patch, the menu is expected to include USDA Prime, Certified Angus and Wagyu steaks.

For Santee diners, the update is another sign that a higher-end local dining option is getting closer after earlier plans called for a summer debut. The restaurant is now expected to open in August.
