A robbery suspect was arrested after a vehicle pursuit in Spring Valley on Thursday afternoon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies assigned to the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Office Crime Suppression Team and the Lemon Grove Crime Suppression Team were looking for Bradley Queen, who was wanted in connection with a robbery, sheriff's officials said. Deputies reported seeing Queen driving near Grand Avenue and Piedmont Street shortly after 3:30 p.m. and attempted a traffic stop.
The Sheriff's Office said Queen did not yield, leading deputies on a pursuit in which he drove through several stop signs and on the wrong side of the road. Officials said Queen and a companion fled from the vehicle near Ivanho Street and Omega Street before deputies set a perimeter and an ASTREA helicopter arrived overhead.
Queen and the companion were found and taken into custody a short time later without incident, according to the Sheriff's Office. Queen was booked into San Diego Central Jail on the robbery charge and other alleged criminal violations, while the companion was booked into Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility on alleged illegal narcotics possession-related charges.
The case is a reminder that East County crime incidents can move quickly across neighborhood streets, especially in communities such as Spring Valley that sit between Santee, La Mesa and Lemon Grove. Sheriff's officials said no injuries were reported.
