A robbery suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon after a vehicle pursuit in Spring Valley, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies assigned to the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Office Crime Suppression Team and Lemon Grove Crime Suppression Team were looking for Bradley Queen when they saw him driving near Grand Avenue and Piedmont Street shortly after 3:30 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but officials said Queen did not yield and a pursuit followed.
During the pursuit, Queen drove through several stop signs and on the wrong side of the road, according to the Sheriff's Office. The pursuit ended near Ivanho Street and Omega Street, where Queen and Michelle Winters fled from the vehicle, officials said. Deputies set a perimeter as the Sheriff's ASTREA helicopter arrived overhead, and both were taken into custody without incident.
Queen was booked into San Diego Central Jail on the robbery charge and other alleged violations, according to the Sheriff's Office. Winters was booked into Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility on illegal narcotic possession-related charges.
The case is a reminder for Santee and East County residents that Sheriff's activity in nearby communities can quickly affect surface streets across the region, especially during holiday-weekend travel. Source: San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
