A woman was injured late Friday after gunfire broke out during a fight outside a house party in Spring Valley, according to East County Magazine, citing the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Station responded shortly before midnight July 17 to the 10000 block of Challenge Boulevard after reports of gunfire at a large gathering. They found an adult woman with a gunshot wound to her ankle.
The woman told deputies she had been attending the party when a fight started in the street and escalated into gunfire. She was taken to a local hospital and treated for a non-life-threatening injury, and investigators said there was no known ongoing threat to the community.
