A Spring Valley man legally barred from possessing firearms was arrested after sheriff's detectives found un-serialized firearms, ammunition and gun parts during a SWAT-assisted search, according to East County Magazine and the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
The search warrant was served April 21 at a home in the 2800 block of Glen Canyon Circle in Spring Valley. Detectives from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station were assisted by the Sheriff's Special Enforcement Detail as part of an investigation into illegal manufacturing of un-serialized firearms.
Authorities identified the suspect as 52-year-old Jason Jefferson. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into San Diego Central Jail on firearm-related violations, according to the report.
For Santee and East County residents, the case is a reminder that ghost-gun investigations are not limited to the urban core. Spring Valley sits just south of Santee's daily commute corridors, and sheriff's stations across East County often coordinate on weapons and public-safety investigations that can affect neighboring communities.
The investigation remains ongoing. This article is based on reporting from East County Magazine: https://eastcountymagazine.org/ghost-guns-seized-in-spring-valley-after-swat-team-operation/
