An 18-year-old man was injured early Wednesday morning after deputies from the Santee Sheriff's Station pursued a stolen Jeep Wrangler that ended in a multi-vehicle crash in El Cajon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responded shortly after 1 a.m. to reports of a stolen 2020 Jeep Wrangler taken from the 10300 block of Molino Road in Santee. The vehicle was later spotted traveling east on Woodside Avenue. When deputies attempted to stop the driver, the suspect failed to yield, triggering a brief pursuit.
The chase ended near North Magnolia Avenue and Fletcher Parkway in El Cajon, when the driver โ identified as Jesus Tizoc-Ocon, 18 โ lost control and crashed into several unoccupied parked vehicles. Tizoc-Ocon suffered serious injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
No deputies or bystanders were injured in the incident. Authorities said Tizoc-Ocon will be booked on suspicion of vehicle theft, evading a peace officer, and possession of burglary tools once he is released from the hospital. The investigation remains ongoing.
