Santee's monthly Stars, Stripes and Sights Adventure Series has shifted into its September round, with check-in locations at City Hall and in city parks, according to the City of Santee. The family-friendly activity sends residents looking for hidden QR codes tied to the city's America250 celebration.

The city lists two City Hall check-in locations at 10601 Magnolia Ave., with hints pointing residents toward public meeting notices and recreation registration. Another September activity asks families to watch for Sammlets in Santee parks and scan the QR code on the bottom when they find one.

Each check-in earns an entry in the month's opportunity drawing. The city says finding a Sammlet in a park is worth five entries, and additional surprise check-in opportunities may appear throughout the community.

September prizes include a gift card to The Stand restaurant in Santee and one ticket to Santee Brews and Bites. The September winner is scheduled to be announced Oct. 1.

The city also announced August winners Melissa Rivas and Ronnie Carr on the same update page. For families looking for a low-cost way to get outside this month, the series turns familiar civic spots and parks into a small local scavenger hunt. Source: City of Santee.
