Santee residents have a busy September ahead, with several community events scheduled around town, according to Patch and City of Santee event listings.

The Santee Fire Department and Santee Firefighters Association will host the annual pancake breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at Fire Station 5, 9130 Carlton Oaks Drive. Tickets are $5 at the door.

Later that day, the city's Movies in the Park series will show "A Minecraft Movie" at Town Center Community Park East, 550 Park Center Drive. Pre-show entertainment begins at 5 p.m., and the movie is scheduled to start at dusk.

The fall Community Cleanup, Shred and Donation Event is set for 8 a.m. to noon Sept. 26 at Santee City Hall, 10601 Magnolia Ave. The city says residents may drop off eligible household items, shred documents and donate accepted items to Goodwill; proof of residency is required.

Patch also noted that Sept. 30 is the last day to buy Phase 1 general admission tickets for the Oct. 17 Brews and Bites Festival before prices increase Oct. 1. More details are available through the City of Santee's special events listings.
