A blood drive is scheduled next week at San Diego County Credit Union's Santee branch as local blood supplies remain low ahead of the Labor Day holiday, according to Patch.

San Diego Blood Bank will collect donations from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at SDCCU, 286 Town Center Parkway. The Santee drive is one of several SDCCU-hosted donation events planned across San Diego and Riverside counties.

Organizers said the timing matters because holiday travel and outdoor activity can increase demand for emergency trauma care. Donors will receive one free ticket to SeaWorld San Diego's Howl-O-Scream event while supplies last, according to SDCCU.

For Santee residents, the drive offers a close-to-home option before the long weekend, with the branch located in the Town Center area near Mission Gorge Road.
