The City of Santee has named winners in its America 250 Patriotic Porch and Storefront Contest, an anniversary-themed decorating effort for residents and businesses, according to the city's America 250 page.\n\nIn the residential category, the city listed Laura M. in first place, Terri D. in second and Michael R. in third. In the mobile home category, winners were Suze B., Ellie S. and Chris Z. The business category recognized Lloyd's Collision, Santee Lakes and Wise Owl Fit.\n\nThe contest was part of Santee's broader America 250 programming, which encourages residents and businesses to show patriotic displays as the country approaches its 250th anniversary in 2026. The city said entries were evaluated by Santee's Arts and Culture Workgroup based on creativity and originality, patriotic theme, and overall presentation and visual impact.\n\nFor residents who missed the contest, the city's July Adventure Series and anniversary activities are still continuing.
