A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning after becoming trapped between two vehicles on Poplin Drive in Santee, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies from the Santee Station responded about 10:34 a.m. Aug. 18 to the 7900 block of Poplin Drive after multiple 911 callers reported a traffic collision, sheriff's officials said.
Deputies found the pedestrian severely injured, provided first aid and applied a tourniquet to control significant bleeding while waiting for paramedics. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to a local trauma center for further treatment.
The driver of the other vehicle stayed at the scene, cooperated with deputies and was evaluated by emergency medical personnel, according to the Sheriff's Office. Drugs or alcohol are not suspected as contributing factors at this time.
