The Santee Fire Department has received new fire hoses and nozzles through a grant funded by the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation and the San Diego River Conservancy, according to a city announcement published Wednesday.

The city said the equipment is intended to improve reliability, water-flow control and durability for firefighters working in challenging fire conditions. The announcement credited the grant partners with helping fund tools used in emergency response operations.

City officials said the equipment is meant to help firefighters operate more safely and effectively while protecting lives, property and the environment. The announcement did not list the grant amount or the number of hoses and nozzles purchased.

For Santee residents, the update is a local public-safety investment at a time when fire readiness remains a year-round concern across East County. Modern equipment can matter during structure fires, brush-fire responses and other calls where crews need dependable water delivery.
