Santee's annual Brews & Bites event is returning Oct. 17 with food and beverage tastings, live music and a Halloween theme at Town Center Community Park East, according to Patch.

The 21-and-older event is scheduled for 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at 550 Park Center Drive. Admission includes small bites and beverage samples from local and regional vendors while supplies last, along with a commemorative sampling cup.

Patch reported that attendees are encouraged to wear costumes and that Jimmy's Buffet will perform live music during the evening. Proceeds support Santee programs and amenities, including the Santee Teen Center, senior and recreation programs, special events, park improvements and the city's Recreation Scholarship Program.
