A new Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is scheduled to open July 30 in Ramona, Patch reported Monday. The independently owned store will be located at 1855 Main St., Suite 1120.

Patch reported that the grand opening will include a noon ribbon-cutting ceremony and that the store will be operated by Jordan Kelley. The store also plans to donate $1,000 to the Kiwanis Club of Ramona as part of the opening celebration.

Opening-day promotions are expected to start at 7 a.m., with the first 100 customers receiving mystery-value Bliss Buck gift cards. Patch reported that shoppers can also receive a free reusable bag with purchase during opening week, while supplies last, and enter a drawing for $1,000 in free groceries through Aug. 28.

The Ramona opening comes after Grocery Outlet closed 36 underperforming stores earlier this year, including nine in California, according to Patch. Other California locations are also scheduled to open this summer.

For Santee and East County residents, the new Ramona store adds another inland grocery option at a time when food prices remain a regular household concern. It also keeps a familiar discount chain expanding in the region despite broader retail churn.
