A woman reported missing last year after her car and trailer were found in Potrero has been located in Mexico, according to East County Magazine, citing the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Ganna Kovrizhnykh, a Ukrainian citizen, was reported missing by family members on July 12, 2025, after her car and trailer were found abandoned on private property in Potrero while she was on a cross-country trip.

Sheriff's investigators established contact with Kovrizhnykh on Aug. 7, 2026, and verified her identity, according to the report. She is believed to be staying in Sinaloa, Mexico.

The Sheriff's Office has notified the Ukrainian Embassy of her whereabouts. For Santee and East County residents, the update closes a regional missing-person case that began with a vehicle discovery in rural East County.
