A new craft brewery is set to join Santee's growing food and drink scene this spring. East County Brewing Co. plans to open its doors on Mission Gorge Road in March, occupying a 4,200-square-foot space near Santee Town Center.

Owner and brewmaster David Chen said the brewery will feature 16 taps pouring a rotating selection of craft beers brewed on-site, along with a full kitchen serving pub fare with a California twist.

"Santee has an amazing community feel, and we want to be part of that," Chen said. "We're not trying to be some exclusive craft beer temple. We want families, sports fans, date nights — everyone."

What to Expect

The brewery's menu will feature: - A core lineup of 6 flagship beers including an East County IPA, a Mexican-style lager, and a coffee stout - Seasonal and experimental small-batch releases - A food menu built around smash burgers, wood-fired pizzas, and shareable appetizers - A dedicated kids' menu and family-friendly seating area

The space will include an outdoor patio, multiple TV screens for sports viewing, and a small stage for weekend live music.

Location and Hours

East County Brewing Co. is located at 9225 Mission Gorge Road, in the space formerly occupied by a furniture retailer. Planned hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 11 AM to 10 PM.

Chen said a soft opening is planned for mid-March, with a grand opening celebration tentatively scheduled for the last weekend of the month.
