East County trolley riders should check their route before heading out Sunday, as the Metropolitan Transit System is posting construction-related information tied to Orange Line service between Euclid Avenue and Lemon Grove Depot.
MTS says there will be no Orange Line trolley service between Euclid Avenue and Lemon Grove Depot on Saturday, Aug. 15, and Sunday, Aug. 16, with regular trolley service expected to resume Monday, Aug. 17, for the morning commute. Shuttle buses are available for Orange Line riders traveling to Lemon Grove Depot, Massachusetts Avenue, Encanto/62nd Street and Euclid Avenue, according to MTS.
The agency directs riders to posted maps for the nearest shuttle bus stops and to its Orange Line Improvement Project information for updates. The closure affects a key East County segment for riders moving between Lemon Grove, Encanto, Euclid Avenue and other trolley connections.
For Santee residents using the trolley to connect through East County or toward downtown San Diego, the practical move is to leave extra time, confirm the latest MTS information before leaving and watch for shuttle bus instructions around the impacted Orange Line segment.
