Lions Tigers & Bears will host its annual Wild in the Country gala from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 30, at its 142-acre ranch in Alpine, according to East County Magazine.
The accredited sanctuary, located at 24402 Martin Way, provides lifelong care for more than 60 animals rescued from abuse, neglect and the exotic animal trade. East County Magazine reported that tickets range from $165 to $375, with proceeds supporting daily operations, veterinary care, nutrition, rescue missions and habitat improvements.
The fundraiser is expected to include animal visits, fine dining from Bekker’s Caterers, three full bars, live entertainment by steel drum performers, casino-style games, a green screen photo booth, live and silent auctions, and other experiences tied to the sanctuary’s work. Auction items listed by the source include a live painting, a Colorado getaway, an African photo safari, a San Diego Harbor cocktail cruise, hotel stays, golf at Carlton Oaks Country Club and private in-home international wine tastings.
For Santee and East County residents, the event offers a nearby way to support a regional animal sanctuary while spending an afternoon at the Alpine ranch. Organizers said information on tickets and bidding is available through the event website, with additional details on the Lions Tigers & Bears website.
