LA MESA / LEMON GROVE โ Two adult men and a juvenile were arrested Thursday in connection with a knifepoint robbery that occurred last fall at a Lemon Grove transit center, the San Diego County Sheriff's Office announced.
Detectives from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station, working alongside the sheriff's East County Gang Street Team and Special Enforcement Detail, served a search warrant at a residence in the 5500 block of Morro Way in La Mesa. During the search, investigators recovered a handgun stored with a loaded magazine in an area accessible to children.
According to the SDSO, the suspects approached a victim at the Massachusetts Avenue Transit Center in Lemon Grove on Oct. 12, 2025, brandished knives and demanded the victim's backpack, cellphone and wallet. Investigators identified the suspects with help from Metropolitan Transit System video footage.
Sedrick Lipscomb, 24, was booked on suspicion of robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and child endangerment. A juvenile at the scene was also taken into custody and placed into Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery.
A third suspect, Demetrius Lipscomb, 27, had already been in custody on an unrelated matter and was additionally arrested on suspicion of robbery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Massachusetts Avenue Transit Center is a key stop along East County's transit network, and the arrests come as transit agencies continue efforts to improve safety at public transportation hubs across San Diego County.
