The annual Lemon Grove Lemon Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20, at St. John of the Cross, according to East County Magazine.
The free, family-friendly festival is expected to include carnival games, cultural food booths, kids' games, a beer garden, vendors, live entertainment, raffles and a silent auction. East County Magazine reported that parishioner-run food booths will include street tacos and Filipino lumpia.
Festival hours are 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at 8086 Broadway in Lemon Grove. The event serves as a fundraiser for St. John of the Cross Catholic Church and School.
For Santee families, the event adds another nearby East County option on a busy September weekend that also includes local Santee events such as the Fire Department pancake breakfast and Movies in the Park.
