Evacuations Ordered as Beaver Fire Burns in Jamul

A fast-moving brush fire in Jamul prompted evacuation orders Friday afternoon after burning at least 15 acres in the 15300 block of Skyline Truck Trail, according to East County Magazine.

Evacuation orders were issued for zones SDC-2102 and SDC-2158, while warnings were in place for SDC-2020, SDC-2104 and SDC-2161. Residents near the fire area were urged to leave immediately if they felt in danger and to check the live Genasys evacuation map for changing boundaries.

A temporary evacuation point opened at Regal Edwards Cinemas, 2951 Jamacha Road in El Cajon, East County Magazine reported, citing the San Diego County Sheriff's Office on X. The report also said air attack and incident command requested additional tankers and engines, citing Watch Duty.

There was no containment reported at the time of the update. For Santee and other East County residents, the practical takeaway is to avoid the affected Jamul area unless necessary and rely on official evacuation maps rather than old screenshots or reposts.
